PHINNEY RIDGE RESIDENCE

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN & HARDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION

The residents of this Phinney Ridge home were faced with a small, sloping backyard that had been compacted and left barren after a recent remodel. The design & construction process was approached with these specific goals in mind:

  • Increased productivity of fruit, vegetables & berries
  • Usable backyard space for entertaining and playing music
  • Welcoming and functional entry

In the backyard, space was maximized by adding a patio and curved stone retaining wall, which also acts as a focal point in this small setting. The front entry beds were leveled out for easier access and are now home to a variety of dwarf fruit trees and berries. Conceptual plan and construction was done by Orion, while the plantings were selected and installed by the homeowner.
